Description:
Japan has proposed a new satellite navigation system QZSS, which will have geosynchronous orbits optimised for Japan. Being at similar longitude, Australia could also use these satellites but the signal will have higher doppler (bad), higher signal levels (good) and shorter periods of visibility (bad). This project aims to quntify these effects and analyse and simulate how a navigation receiver would be affected. Ultimately, QXSS profiles could be programmed into a satellite signal simulator.
