When a GPS receiver is first turned on, it must "search" for signals from visible satellites. This process is called "acquisition". A new GPS signal, called L2C, is available from July 2005. This project examines whether, it is better to acquire a satellite using the old L1 signal, or to use either of teh new L2C codes: CM and CL. Th eproject would be Matlab-based but directly relevant to real receiver design.
