GPS receivers acquire and track the signals using a correlator. "Software" correlation uses an FFT of the stored codes. For the exisiting L1 GPS signal, this has been acceptable as the repetition rate is 1ms and the code length only 1023 chips. The new GPS L2C and L5 signals are more complex. This project investigates the use of the FFT correlation approach for these new signals.
