Topic Description

Topic ID: AGD33
Topic Title: Radio environment effects on WiFi positioning
Topic Offered Session: Both
Topic Supervisor: Andrew Dempster
Topic Description: Indoor positioning using WiFi mostly uses a technique known as "fingerprinting", which matches measured signals strengths from access points with those recorded in a database. However, changes in the environment (opening a door or moving furniture, movements of people) can change the received signal levels. In this project, experiments will examine how greatly the "fingerprints" are changed by environmental factors.
