GPS receivers that are required to produce carrier phase measurements do not perform well under trees. Models for signals under trees do not exist, but the remote sensing community has produced a model for reflections in synthetic aperture radar. The aim of this project is to modify these models for the GPS case. It may also be possible to test the model against real data. This is a more difficult project, suitable for people interested in research.
